COVID 19 SALON POLICY

Overview & Purpose

Due to COVID19, we have revamped our sanitation policy to protect the health and safety of our staff and clients to the best of our abilities.

Pre-appointment Assessment 

Staff will send clients a COVID19 assessment questionnaire and waiver via email/text to determine if clients would be able to be serviced on the day of their appointment.

Temperature Checks

A digital thermometer will be used to check the temperature of employees and clients who enter Lazuli Salon daily. ​Anything above 100.4 F is considered a fever and clients that have a fever will have to reschedule appointments to 14 days after the initial appointment date. Salon staff with fever will be asked to go home and appointments booked with stylists/technicians will have to be rescheduled or accommodated if salon schedule permits.

No Shoe Policy 

All shoes worn by clients outside of the salon will be left in the shoe rack in front (inside salon) of the facility and will be given disposable sandals to wear while being serviced. ​Salon staff will have “salon only shoes” that will be worn while working in the salon. 

Limited Clients In Salon

Clients will be seen by appointment only. Appointments will be made over the phone or through the website. (no walk-in appointments will be taken) One client per stylist/technician. All clients being serviced will not be allowed to be accompanied by an extra guest unless client being serviced is in need of help with mobility. In that case both parties will have to abide by the
same rules. Clients will wait outside the salon in their vehicle until the cosmetologist is ready to serve them.
(No waiting room) 

Maintain Social Distancing 

Spacing between persons in the salon should be at least six feet at all times in between booths. ​Use of Personal Protective Equipment and Best Practices will be mandatory. Salon employees will be required to wear masks and face shields while servicing clients. Clients will have to provide their own face masks and must wear a mask before entering the Salon.

Disinfection

Items and implements used on a client will be disinfected or disposed of between each client.​ Handwashing with soap and warm water, for a minimum of 20 seconds will be required by employees between every client service. The salon will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to reopening. Disinfect all surfaces, tools, and linens, even if they were cleaned before the salon was closed. The salon will maintain regular disinfection of all tools, shampoo bowls, pedicure bowls, workstations, treatment rooms, and restrooms. Additionally, all unnecessary items (magazines, newspapers, service menus, and any other unnecessary paper products/decor) from reception areas and ensure that these areas and regularly touched surfaces are consistently wiped down, disinfected, and that hand sanitizer is readily available to clients and staff. There will be NO CASH transactions allowed. The use of Zelle or Apple pay is preferred but the use of credit/debit portal will be available.

Administration

Employees who are sick will be expected to stay home. ​The salon will be providing training, educational materials, and reinforcement on proper sanitation, hand washing, cough, and sneeze etiquette, use of PPE, and other protective behaviors. Break rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and not used for congregating by employees. 

Waiver

 Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

Lazuli Salon has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, Lazuli Salon cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending appointments to the salon could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.

By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending appointments and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at Lazuli Salon may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, salon employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at Lazuli Salon or any subcontractors that work within the Salon ). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmlessly towards Lazuli Salon, its employees, contractors, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Salon, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Salon visits.
